WHAT IS WEBSITE HOSTING
Let’s start with “What is Hosting?”
Your website needs to live or be “hosted” on a Server somewhere in the world. That is your ‘Website Host’ – the server where your website lives. Your domain (your URL) needs to be connected to a host, so when someone types in your URL, they are directed to your website, wherever it is being hosted.
There are so many website hosting options, but not all website hosts are created equal.
For example, does your hosting take regular backups? And what’s the fee if you need to revert to a previous backup? Some hosts can charge $250 + for this task, which is a regular occurrence for many websites. How many websites does your host have per server? For many hosts this can be up to 1000, which is not only a security risk making your site vulnerable to hacking, but it also slows down your website, affects your SEO and overall client experience.
MY website hosting plans
My hosting service ensures your site is on a dedicated private server, with only up to 9 other websites (most hosts have up to 1,000 sites per server). This keeps your website running fast (proven to increase conversions) and far more secure than most other hosting platforms.
All new sites I build will be hosted on this private server to keep them secure are running as fast as possible, but these plans are also available for existing websites.
MY website maintenance plans
Just like a car, your website needs to be maintained regularly to keep it safe, secure and running smoothly. Websites that are not maintained regularly are;
a) less secure leaving them open to hacking
b) more likely to break and are prone to problems
c) not optimised so they run slower
d) not kept up-to-date which Google does not like which will effect your search engine rankings.
Ensuring your site is up-to-date is your best defence against hackers and site breakages, and keeps it running fast. But sometimes things just break – which is why we have backups. Because unlike cars, if your site crashes, we can easily restore it to its previous condition from a backup!

About maintenance plans:
- All websites on maintenance plans receive a guarantee that if the site is compromised it will be restored/fixed as a priority – with no charge for the first hour.
- If it is taking more than 1 hour to fix the issue, I will gain approval from you before continuing.
- The discounted hourly fee is AUD$125+GST/hour, minimum charge 1 hour. (Only available for my clients.)
- All plans require a minimum sign up of 6 months
- Plans are paid monthly or annually
- All emails will be addressed within 2 business day.
- Emergency support is available with support immediately/ASAP at a discounted rate of 190+GST
Keen to maintain your site yourself?
No problem. All of my web design clients receive their own Maintenance Manual with details of what maintenance activities should be performed to keep your site running smoothly. You will also receive a video tutorial teaching you how to perform your necessary plugin/theme/core updates.
For those not on a Maintenance Plan, I am still happy and available to assist with any content updates or any website issues/restoration on an as-needed basis at an hourly rate of AUD$150+GST/hour. Minimum charge 1 hour. Subject to change without notice. Emails will be address within 2-3 business days maximum.
Emergency support is available with support immediately/ASAP at $230+GST
