Commercial License Copywriting Guides for Web Designers

Never Chase Website Content Again

Built for web designers working with service-based businesses

These step-by-step copy guides show your clients exactly what to write for their website pages so you can keep projects moving and launch websites built to convert.

What if client website content became the easiest part of your projects?

Imagine this.
Instead of awkwardly asking clients to “send through the copy when it’s ready”…

You hand them a guide that walks them through exactly what to write on every page of their website.
Section by section. Prompt by prompt.

And instead of messy drafts or random paragraphs, you receive structured, strategic copy that matches the layout of a high-converting web page.

Which means:
Projects move faster.
The process feels calmer.
And you spend your time designing, not rewriting someone else’s website.

If you’re a web designer, you’ve probably experienced this special circle of project hell:

🙋🏻‍♀️ Projects sitting in limbo because the client is “still working on the copy.”

🙋🏻‍♀️ Designing entire pages around placeholder text.

🙋🏻‍♀️ Content arriving that doesn’t fit the structure of the page.

🙋🏻‍♀️ Rewriting large chunks of copy just to keep the project moving.

🙋🏻‍♀️ Redesigning layouts when the real content finally arrives.

It’s frustrating. It slows projects down. And it happens far more often than most designers admit. But here’s the thing...

It’s not that you’re doing a bad job.

It’s that you’re doing THREE jobs.

Website projects used to involve:

👩🏻‍🏫 a copywriter
🧑🏾‍🎨 a designer
👩🏻‍💻 a developer

But these days?

Designers design the website. Develop the website. And are often expected to guide the messaging and structure too. (Sheesh. No wonder we all have imposter syndrome.)

So designers end up helping clients write their website content… without ever being trained in copy strategy.

And what happens? Projects stall. Timelines stretch. And designers end up rewriting large chunks of copy themselves just to keep the build moving.

Which leads to slower projects, lower profit, and far more stress than a website project should involve.

Introducing

The Conversion Copy License for Web Designers

Commercial license website copywriting guides designed specifically for web designers working 1:1 with service-based clients.

These guides walk your clients through writing their website copy. Page by page. Section by section.

You simply hand them the guide. They follow the prompts. And suddenly the content phase of your website projects becomes structured, strategic, predictable.

Instead of chasing content, you now have a clear system for collecting it.

And your clients get something valuable too. Guidance that helps them clarify their message and understand how to write website copy that actually sells.

How the Conversion
Copy License Works

one

Hand Your Client the Guide

As part of your onboarding or project kickoff, you simply give your client the copywriting guide for the pages they need. Instead of vaguely asking for website content, you now give them a clear structure to follow.

two

They Follow the Prompts

Each guide walks them through exactly what to write. Page by page. Section by section. The prompts help them clarify their message and shows what each part of the page needs to say. They don’t need to be copywriters. The guide does the heavy lifting.

three

You Receive Strategic, Structured Copy

Instead of messy drafts or random paragraphs, you receive clean, strategic copy. Which means you can design the website properly from the beginning and keep the project moving forward.

What Happens When You Introduce a Strategic Content System

What website projects usually look like:

VS. What projects look like with the guides:

Client promises to send copy “soon.”

→ Client receives a clear writing framework.

You design around placeholder text just to keep things moving.

→ They follow prompts section by section.

The content eventually arrives.

→ Content arrives structured and organised.

Half the layout needs to change.

→ You design the website around real messaging from day one.

The project timeline doubles but your fee stays the same.

→ When the site launches, it actually converts.

Same project. Far less chaos and far better results (for you both).

Turn Website Copy Into a Strategic Part of Your Web Design Process

When clients are guided through writing their website content properly, something interesting happens. The website project stops being just a design job.

Instead, it becomes a more strategic process where your clients clarify their message, understand how their website actually needs to work, and arrive at the design stage with content that makes sense.

Which changes the entire dynamic of the project. Instead of:

  • chasing content
  • fixing messy drafts
  • redesigning layouts when the copy finally arrives

You’re guiding clients through a structured process that helps them create better messaging for their business.

And when the messaging is clearer, the design gets better too. The project runs smoother.

And working with you feels far more strategic, and far more valuable.

Alex J

Hey, I'm Jordanne

Web designer. Copywriter. Systemiser.

I started my web design business straight out of maternity leave. The pandemic had just hit. I was five months pregnant, contracting to studios, and trying to build something of my own at the same time.

The goal was simple. I wanted to do creative work I loved, while still having the flexibility to be with my kids.

But pretty quickly I ran into a problem that kept derailing my projects. Clients didn’t know what to write for their website.

Sometimes they sent nothing for weeks. Sometimes they sent messy drafts that needed rewriting. Sometimes they copied their competitors and hoped for the best.

At the time I was only working two days a week. So when a client didn’t have their content ready, it didn’t just slow things down. It completely threw off my work schedule (and my income) for that week.

Something had to change. So I decided to learn how to fix the problem properly.

I studied conversion copywriting so I could confidently write website copy myself, or guide clients through the structure of their messaging.

And that’s when something clicked. Website content isn’t random. There’s actually a structure to it.

Once you understand how each page works, you can almost reverse engineer the sales process through the content on the site.

Some clients wanted me to write the copy for them. But many wanted to write it themselves. They just needed guidance.

So I created simple copywriting guides that walk clients through exactly what to write for each section of their website.

Those guides quickly became the foundation of my entire process.

They help clients clarify their messaging, deliver their content on time, and ensure every website we build is structured to convert.

They’re also the reason we’ve been able to scale our semi-custom “Website in a Week” service and build a business that’s sustainable, profitable and flexible for our family.

Now I’m sharing those same guides with other web designers, so you can use them in your own projects too.

Is This for You?

YES — If you’re a web designer who…

✅ Has incredible design skills but a backend that’s built on chaos
✅ Wants to raise your prices and your standards
✅ Feels stuck in scope-creep spirals and revision hell
✅ Dreams of clients saying “That was the best experience I’ve ever had”
✅ Is ready to scale without the burnout

NOPE— If you…

🚫 Don’t work with web design clients
🚫 Are allergic to structure
🚫 Love sending “just checking in again” emails
🚫 Think boundaries are “mean”
🚫 Have never worked with a paying client

Yes! The guides are designed specifically for non-copywriters.

Each page is broken down section by section with clear explanations, prompts, and examples so clients understand exactly what to write and why.

Many designers find their clients produce far clearer content simply because they finally understand what each page needs to say.

You’ll receive a short tutorial showing how to integrate the guides into your onboarding process in about 20 minutes.

You’ll also get the exact script and instructions you can send to clients when introducing the guides, so they understand how to use them and what to expect.

These guides are ideal for designers who work with service-based businesses and build websites such as:

  • service websites
  • portfolio websites
  • personal brand websites
  • small business websites

They’re especially helpful for designers who regularly find themselves chasing or rewriting client content.

Perfect. These guides are designed to slot into your existing process.
Many designers simply add them as part of their onboarding or content collection stage so clients know exactly what to prepare before design begins.

You’re welcome to integrate the guides into your workflow in the way that works best for your process.

Many designers add them directly into their onboarding or content collection stage so clients know exactly what to prepare before the design phase begins.

If you’d like help building a fully streamlined client workflow around your projects, you might also enjoy my Plug + Play Profitable Project Systems, where I share the exact onboarding, project management, and client experience systems I use in my own design business.

The Core License includes guides for the four most important website pages:
• Home
• About
• Services
• Contact
You can also add the Website Expansion Pack which includes additional guides for blog, portfolio, and directory-style pages.

Yes you can if you would like to, and many designers choose to.

The guides help clients create structured content and clarify their message, which means you’re starting with far stronger copy from the beginning.

You can then review, refine, or lightly edit the content before designing the site.

I often recommend that web designers offer copy review or refinement as an add-on service, which can be a great way to add value to your projects while keeping the content process structured.

The guides are designed specifically for non-copywriters, with clear explanations, prompts, and examples for every section of the page.

Most clients find the process far easier simply because they finally understand what each page needs to say and why.

And because the content is structured from the start, you’ll have a much better foundation to work with if you choose to review or refine the copy.

Give Your Website Projects the Structure They’ve Been Missing

When clients know what to write and how each page works, the entire website project becomes easier.

Instead of chasing content or rewriting copy yourself, you simply hand them the guide and let the structure do the work. Turn website content into a smooth, strategic part of your web design process.

Get instant access. Start using the guides with your next client project.
